More about Jennifer

Jennifer Kyrnin writes fantasy and science fiction rooted in forests, code, and ancient myth. She is the author of Digital Dryad (2024), the first novel in the Digital Dryad universe — an alternate present where dryads and dragons walk among us, the boundary between living systems and silicon ones grows thin, and the old stories about the woods turn out to be the field manual.

Her short fiction has appeared in Meniscus Journal (“The Ficus”) and the DreamPunk Press Halloween anthology Blame It on the Pumpkin (“Vampire Gourd”). She is currently at work on a cozy scifi murder mystery, a humorous dragon saga, and the next Digital Dryad book.

Before fiction, Jennifer spent twenty-five years as a professional web designer and developer. She wrote seven books on web design and HTML for Pearson Education — including Sams Teach Yourself HTML5 in 24 Hours — and recorded several video courses for the same publisher.

Her stories often feature neurodivergent characters living their lives, frequently in landscapes that look a lot like the Pacific Northwest where she lives.

She lives on a small farm outside Seattle with her husband, her son, dogs, cats, a horse, and an ever-rotating cast of other creatures. When she isn’t writing or coding, she’s most likely in the garden reading, on a long walk, or making something with her hands.
